After receiving less than half the funding needed to operate the visitor information center, the Superior-Douglas County tourism entity winds down operation.
The event begins Thursday, Aug. 4, and ends Sunday, Aug. 7.
The contracts would provide funding for Travel Superior and the Bong Center.
Promoting Superior could include marketing opportunities outside of the city that would draw visitors to stay in the community.

After a record-breaking year in 2021, the 13th annual event will be July 16-17 at the Duluth International Airport.
The animatronic attraction's crew had less than two days to turn the DECC's Pioneer Hall into a prehistoric playground.
"This is the most engaged package tour group I've ever seen, in 10 years of doing this," said the North Shore Scenic Railroad station manager.
