For the second straight day, the University of Wisconsin-Superior baseball team split a doubleheader at UW-Oshkosh.

After losing 10-8 and winning 11-3 on Saturday, the Yellowjackets lost the first game Sunday 13-5 before rebounding once again to win game two 21-5 in seven innings.

Both doubleheaders were played at Tiedemann Field in Oshkosh.

In Sunday's win, UWS scored seven runs on six hits and three UWO errors in the second inning. The 'Jackets added seven more runs on four hits and one UWO error in third inning then five more runs on three hits in fourth inning.

The 21 runs were the most runs UWS has ever scored against UWO.

After falling 10-8 in the first game on Saturday, UWS rode the arm of starting pitcher T.J. Wink to an 11-3 victory as the Yellowjackets earned a split with UW-Oshkosh in their Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball opener on Saturday in Oshkosh.

Dan Lindsey took the loss in game one for the Yellowjackets as the Titans won the opener 10-8.

UWO's Nolan Fadness hit two-run home runs in the second and fourth innings while Superior's Paul Schlangen hit a double in first inning, a two-run single in second and a triple in seventh.

In game two, Wink improved to 4-0 after pitching 7 1/3 innings, giving up one earned run and striking out 11.

Schlangen again led UWS offensively with two home runs and five RBIs.

After going hitless through four innings, UWS scored six runs on five hits in the fifth inning, including a solo home run by Mitch Loegering, a two-run home run by Schlangen and a two-run double by Sean Cummings.

Schlangen added a two-run double in sixth inning and solo home run in eighth.

UWS goes to 9-8 overall and 2-2 in the WIAC while the Titans are now 10-9 and 3-2.

'JACKET JOTTINGS: Game one Saturday was delayed by rain after the sixth inning for 58 minutes. ... UWS is back in action at 2 p.m. Thursday at Minnesota-Duluth. The Yellowjackets will then play doubleheaders at UW-Stevens Point at noon on Saturday and Sunday.
