The post-season awards continue to roll in for University of Wisconsin-Superior men's basketball player Jake Smith, who today received two all-region honors. He was named First Team All-West Region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and he was a second-team All-West Region selection by d3hoops.com, a Web site covering Division III basketball across the country.

Last year, Smith was a Third Team All-West Region pick by d3hoops.com.

A senior from Rhinelander, who will graduate in May with a degree in math education, Smith has already been named WIAC Co-Player of the Year and First Team All-WIAC. He is also a finalist for the 2011 Jostens Trophy.

"Jake has worked extremely hard throughout his career to maximize his potential as a basketball player," UWS coach Matt Siverling said. "To be recognized as one of the best players in the region is a tremendous accomplishment and something he can be very proud of."

Smith will leave UWS as the all-time scoring leader in program history, completing his career with 1,910 points. He was a three-time All-WIAC selection and a WIAC Scholar Athlete.
