The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's hockey team improved to 3-1 on the season with a pair of win this weekend.
The Yellowjackets defeated St. John's 3-2 Thursday night at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn., then won 2-0 over Concordia-Moorhead Saturday afternoon at the Moorhead Sports Center.
Tyler Klein's empty-net goal with 1:44 remaining helped put the finishing touches on the Cobbers on Saturday.
On Thursday, St. John's took a 1-0 lead 22 seconds into the game when Tobias Linbro scored with assists from Mike Wallgren and Conor Rooney.
UWS scored three straight goals starting with Jeff Forsythe's tally on a power play at 14:05 of the first period. Jesse Junkermeier and Josh Kesler assisted.

Logan Isley scored 5:09 into the second period with helpers from Talon Berlando and Forsythe and Justin Faryna scored at 9:06 with an assist from Tyler Klein.
St. John's second goal came three minutes later as Jascha Pettit scored with help from Joe Harren and Michael Palmiscno.
Drew Strandberg stopped 25 shots for UWS and Tony Civello had 27 saves for St. John's.
Superior is back in action at 7 p.m. Friday at Marian (Wis.).
