Six Tigers advance to wrestling sectionals

Six Tigers have advanced to the WIAA Division 2 sectional tournament Saturday, Feb. 16, in Neillsville.

Markus Brown (113 pounds) and Zach Pooler (145) both won regional titles Saturday, Feb. 9, in Barron. Brown will take a record of 32-2 to Neillsville, while Pooler is now 29-9.

Also advancing with second-place finishes were Logan Trautt (106), Braden Trautt (126), Isaiah Huray (220), and Trent Orlowski (285).

The top two finishers in each weight class Saturday will advance to the state tournament Feb. 21-23 in Madison.

As a team, Northwestern finished in third place with 178.5 points. Spooner/Webster finished in first place, 223.5, followed by Ashland, 211.5.
