Wisconsin-Superior earned a clear victory in its Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opener, sweeping Northland 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-16) on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 at Mertz Mortorelli Gym.

Alexie Pryd put on a dominant performance, recording 20 kills for UWS and adding 18 digs. Though the teams went to a 15-13 fifth set when UWS won a non-conference contest here on Sept. 10, the Yellowjackets (3-8, 1-0 UMAC) never trailed by more than a point in any set.

Megan Holz had 29 assists and four aces, team highs in both categories. Jenna Anderson had 31 digs and Hailey Atwood contributed 18 digs and three aces.

UWS continues UMAC play on Friday at Bethany Lutheran.
