The season came to an end for the Northwestern High School volleyball team with a 3-0 loss to the Ashland Oredockers in a WIAA Division 3 playoff game Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Ashland.
The Oredockers, who won by scores of 25-13, 25-21, 25-17, now play at St. Croix Central on Thursday, Oct. 24.
“With the exception of the first set, it was a back-and-forth match,” NHS coach Charlie Hessel said. “Even in the first set, we started with a 6-0 run only to be followed by an 8-0 run by Ashland. We made some adjustments and played well, but Ashland is a good team and just beat us with more consistent power from the service line and at the net.”
The Tigers’ final records were 11-25 overall and 4-4 in the Heart O’ North Conference (tied for fourth place).
Seniors playing their final match for the Tigers were Brooke Ogren, Merissa Keller, Tayva Plasch, Sasha Johansen and Jaydon Goette.
