UWS women lose opener to Hamline

The University of Wisconsin-Superior women's soccer team opened its season with a 5-0 loss to Hamline Thursday afternoon at the Superior High School soccer fields.

The University of Wisconsin-Superior women's soccer team opened its season with a 5-0 loss to Hamline Thursday afternoon at the Superior High School soccer fields.

The Pipers scored three times in the first half and twice in the second.

Aileen Scheibner scored twice and Jordan Sammons, Natalie Cooper and Brienne Garside each scored once for Hamline.

Alexandra Paige had nine saves for UWS while Erin Urbanowicz and Liz Stock each made one save for Hamline.

UWS hosts Alverno at noon Saturday.
