The season ended for the University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s basketball team with an 83-80 loss to Minnesota Morris in a UMAC play-in game Monday night at Jim Gremmels Court in Morris.
The Yellowjackets found themselves down 20 points with about 7 minutes remaining. They battle back into the game but the rally fell short when Brian Lindblom missed a game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer.
The Yellowjackets end the season with a record of 12-14.

Lindblom scored 20 points to finish his Yellowjackets career with 1,004.
His teammate, Zach Schradle, who passed the 1,000-point plateau Friday night, totaled 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
The Yellowjackets also got 11 points from Cade Stackpool and 10 more from Marquise Slay, who made three 3-pointers.
C.D. Douglas had a game-high 37 points for Morris (13-13), which lost to top-seeded St. Scholastica Wednesday night in Duluth. Morris also had 10 rebounds and six assists.

Schradle honored again
Schradle was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Schradle, a junior guard from Clayton, was also honored the weeks of Nov. 17, Jan. 5 and Jan. 26.
“To put it simply Zach Schradle is one of the best people I have ever coached. He’s not just a great player but he is also a great person,” UWS coach Paul Eberhardt said. “All season long he has been the person that has made our team go and this week was no exception.”
Schradle helped the Yellowjackets secure a berth in the UMAC tournament with his first career triple-double (30 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists) in a 94-86 win over Northwestern on Friday.
During Friday’s game Schradle also surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career.
On Saturday Schradle posted a double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, but the Yellowjackets were overcome by North Central.
For the week Schradle scored 52 points, had 21 rebounds and 13 assists. He shot .515 (17-of-33) from the field, including .333 (1-for-3) from outside the arc. He also hit 17-of-22 free throw attempts.
“He basically put the team on his shoulders, not just last week but throughout the year,” Eberhardt said. “But to see how he played and what he did Friday night, when we needed that win to get into the playoffs was really special.”
College softball
UWS was chosen to finish second in its first season as a UMAC participant.
The Yellowjackets return six starters, including seniors Shelly Misco and Brittany Thomfohrda.
St. Scholastica was picked to win an eighth straight UMAC title. The Saints were a unanimous pick to finish first in the coaches’ poll, announced Thursday.
UWS opens its season this weekend at the Finlandia Superior Dome Tournament in Marquette, Mich.
UWS opens against Lakeland College at 4 p.m. Saturday. The Yellowjackets also play Alverno College at 8 p.m. Friday; Concordia (Wis.) at 10 a.m. Saturday and Simpson College at noon Saturday.
UWS coach Roger Plachta, the all-time wins leader at UWS, begins the season four wins shy of 300 for his career.
