The University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s soccer team notched a pair of shutouts over the weekend, while the Yellowjacket volleyball team won its UMAC debut and the women’s soccer team came up short against Bethany Lutheran.
Men’s soccer

UWS began the weekend with a 7-0 rout of Bethany Lutheran Saturday in Mankato, Minn., then defeated Lawrence University 1-0 Sunday before a crowd of 119 at the Yellowjacket soccer complex.
Reyman Solis had a big weekend for UWS with one goal and four assists.
Solis assisted on Jon Bucklew’s goal on Sunday and Ben Wilhelm made four saves as UWS improved to 8-2.
Joe Krivit made seven saves for Lawrence (1-6-1).
Solis then had a goal and three assists in Saturday’s win over Bethany.
Bucklew, Erik Boese and Silvio Brych scored in the first half. Trevor Laroche-Theune assisted on Bucklew’s goal; while Solis assisted on the other two goals.
Ryan Wisdom, John Little, Joao Moreira and Solis added goals in the second half for the Yellowjackets.
Laroche-Theune picked up his second assist of the game on Wisdom’s goal; Solis’ third assist of the game came on Little’s goal; and Brych assisted on Moreira’s goal.

Wilhelm and Ben Nelson combined for three saves for UWS.
UWS hosts Northland College today, plays at Crown Saturday and hosts St. John’s Sunday. All three matches begin at 2 p.m.
Women’s soccer
The Lady Yellowjackets surrendered two first-half goals and couldn’t rally in the second half in a 2-0 loss to Bethany Lutheran Saturday in Mankato.
Ali Mix scored both goals for Bethany Lutheran (5-3-1, 3-0-1).
The Yellowjackets outshot the Vikings 12-5 in the second half, but goalkeeper Averi Cash posted 17 saves in the shutout.
Yellowjackets goalie Bailey Henderson had four saves.

Sally Linzmeier led UWS with eight shots on goal.
UWS (1-5, 1-2) hosts Northland College at 4:15 p.m. today and plays at Crown College at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
Volleyball
Stephanie Bandelin had 19 kills and posted a .391 attack percentage to lead the UWS spikers past Martin Luther College 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-13) in the Yellowjackets’ UMAC debut Saturday at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium.
The Yellowjackets (10-6, 1-0) also got 36 set assists and 10 digs from Emily Ver Way, and six blocks from Anna Hendrix.
UWS is at Northland College at 7 p.m. today.
