As part of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference "10-Year Celebration," the UMAC has announced the launch of the 2018-19 Senior Series which offers senior student-athletes an opportunity to participate in friendly competition alongside fellow UMAC athletes and celebrate the completion of their collegiate careers.

The UMAC Senior Series will provide seniors an opportunity to practice and compete with players from other UMAC teams, work collaboratively in community service projects and celebrate academic and athletic achievements at a banquet with a keynote speaker.

"We are excited to provide this very unique opportunity for UMAC student-athletes to compete alongside their former opponents in a friendly manner," UMAC Commissioner Corey Borchardt said. "No other Division III conference is currently offering this, and we're looking forward to it."

In 2018-19, the Senior Series will be conducted once in the fall for men's and women's soccer and volleyball, and once in the winter for men's and women's basketball. Both events will be hosted by Crown College.

The concept for the Senior Series was generated by UMAC soccer coaches who wanted to find a way to showcase the talents of UMAC student-athletes at the end of their careers as a means of adding value to the UMAC student-athlete experience and enhancing the visibility of the conference regionally and nationally.

UMAC players who have exhausted their athletics eligibility in their sport are welcome to compete in the two-day event. Student-athletes from all nine conference schools will be distributed among two teams that will be led by UMAC coaches.

The fall Senior Series with games for men's and women's soccer and volleyball will be Nov. 16-17, while the winter Senior Series with men's and women's basketball games will be March 8-9. Additional information regarding registration, tickets and game times will be released this fall.
