The University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s track team won its third straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. Scholastica.

The Yellowjackets, who finished 221 team points, won just four events, but utilized depth across each event to hold off St. Scholastica, which finished second with 160 points.

C.J. Pillath was the lone UWS individual to capture event titles with a new meet record performance in the shot put to sweep the throwing events. The senior tossed 15.96 meters (52-4.5) to better the previous record set in 2016 by UWS’s Thomas Udenberg.

The other event win on day two for the Yellowjackets came in the 4x400-meter relay. Andre Couture, Cody Fernandez, Isaiah Arntson and Jake Weston won by nearly seven seconds with a time of 3:31.97.

Women’s track

St. Scholastica won its 10th title in the history of the UMAC conference meet, followed by UWS in second place.

The Yellowjackets won three events on day two. LeAnn Torgerson, Valerie Rowe, Kelli Praska and Mikaela Shepard won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:11.26, senior Kelli Praska won the 800-meter run, and Maria Mazo won the 60-meter hurdles.
