Nygaard, Krezonoski win Park Point 5-miler

Nick Nygaard, 28, of Duluth won the 47th annual running of the Park Point 5-Miler with a time of 25 minutes and 49 seconds. The victory was his second for the event as he won in 2015 with a time of 26:34.

In the female division, Kim Krezonoski, 24, from Shuniah, Ontario, claimed the title with a time of 30:35. The victory was her first for the event.

The top local finisher was Henry Seeb of Brule, who finished in seventh place in the Men’s Open Division.

Meanwhile, Herb Dillon, 69, of Duluth, and Charity Gallardo, 42, of Saginaw, Minn., were the champions of the men and women divisions in the 2-Mile Walk.

A field of 586 participants (496 runners and 90 walkers) registered for the event ― northern Minnesota’s oldest road race. Free youth races for children 14 and under accompanied the five-mile run and two-mile walk.
