The Northwestern High School girls golf team opened the season Tuesday by hosting Superior and Ladysmith at Botten’s Green Acres.

Ladysmith won the meet with a team score of 200. Northwestern had a 209, and Superior finished with a score of 212.

Kendra Maki led the Tigers with a 43 and was named the meet medalist.

Also for Northwestern, Jennifer Thul shot a 49, Kamry Gary shot a 57 and Britta Lind finished out the scoring with a 60. All three golfers are juniors. Senior Kristine Britton had a non-counting 61.

Kayla and Lauren Raboin led Superior with 50s. Missy Walkowiak followed with a 52, Hailey Mackie had a 60 and Jazime Wills came in at 62.

Halie Gronquist led the Spartan JV with a 52. Other SHS JV scores were Bridget Beyer, 57; Lyvia Olson, 59; Emily VanErt, 62; Abby Johnson, 64; Connie Misfelt, 65; Megan Struss, 72; and Megan Jazczak, 78.

The Tigers and Spartans also played at Hayward Thursday.

Superior carded a 444 in Hayward led by K. Raboin’s 99, followed by Gronquist, Mackie and Olson, 115s; and L. Raboin, 117.

Northwestern’s scores were not available at press time.

On Monday, Northwestern plays at Chetek and Superior is at Luck.  Both matches begin at 9 a.m.
