The Northwestern High School boys basketball team remains tied for first place in the Heart O’ North Conference after defeating Chetek-Weyerhaeuser 78-35 Friday night.
Riley Stowers and Alex Tecker led Northwestern with 18 and 12 points, respectively. Tanner Klobucher led Northwestern with six rebounds, and Matt Lindsay had four assists.
For the Bulldogs, Victor Martinez led with 16 points.

The Tigers are now 9-1 in the HON Conference and 12-3 overall. Barron holds identical records in the conference and overall.
The Golden Bears defeated Hayward 64-53 Friday. Hayward led 32-29 at halftime but could not keep pace with Barron in the second half.
Rece Dietrich scored 18 second-half points and led all scorers with 28 points. Hayward was led by Xavier Cummings, who had 15 points in the second half and finished with 20 points.
The Tigers play at Washburn tonight and host Cumberland Thursday. Both games begin at 7:15 p.m.

Girls basketball
The Tiger girls improved to 13-4, 8-3 with a 56-26 win Thursday night at Cumberland.
Katie Lundeen led the Tigers with 17 points, followed by Aleia Lupa with 11 points and Cheyenne Johnson with 10.
The Tigers host Spooner at 7:15 p.m. Friday.
