The Northwestern High School girls golf team finished its last home match of the season with wins over Chetek and Barron Monday evening at Botten’s Green Acres.
Due to illness to a couple of players, the Chetek girls were unable to field a full squad and subsequently had to forfeit their match with both Northwestern and Barron.
Northwestern finished with a score of 188 and Barron 264.

The wins give the Tigers a final record of 10-6 in the Heart O’ North Conference.
Northwestern’s Kendra Maki was the meet’s medalist with a 43.
Other Tiger scores were Lyndi Graff, 46; Marissa Delvas, 49; Kristine Britton, 50; and Kamry Gary, 51.
Northwestern will now compete in the HON Conference tournament at 9:58 a.m. Wednesday at the Hayward Golf Club.
“Our girls have shot their lowest team scores of the whole season in the last two matches, so we feel we will play and do very well Wednesday.”
Tigers split at Superior
In earlier action the Tigers competed in a duel match with Superior and Luck/Unity at the Nemadji Golf Course.

Luck/Unity won the match with a score of 192. Northwestern came in with a 193 and Superior finished with 198.
Maki was the meet medalist with a 44. Other Tiger scores were Graff, 47; Gary, 50; and Delvas, 52.
“I was impressed with all three of the team’s scores,” Swanson said. “It was a great match with all the girls shooting very competitive scores. I was especially proud of our girls. As a team we improved 44 strokes from our last match in Spooner on Tuesday.”
