Thanks to a 31-9 second-half advantage the Northwestern High School boys basketball team pulled away from the Ladysmith Lumberjacks for a 54-31 victory Thursday night in Ladysmith.
The Tigers led just 12-11 after one quarter and 26-22 at the half before outscoring the Lumberjacks 17-4 and 11-5 in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
Steven Kastern and Alex Tecker led the Tigers in scoring with 15 and 13 points, respectively. Mike Lindsay and Brandon Copp chipped in with six points apiece and Riley Stowers added five.

Riley Herbes led Ladysmith with 12 points.
Northwestern hosts South Shore at 7:15 p.m. today and plays at Hayward on Tuesday.
