The Superior girls tennis team wasn't able to finish its match against Hibbing on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Officials paused the match when rain moved into the area. A makeup date had not been set as of publication. The Spartans will host Hermantown on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 4:15 p.m. and travel to New Richmond High School on Saturday, Sept. 11, for a quad.

Spartan golfers fall to Barron

The Spartan girls golf team took its first loss of the season on Tuesday by a 182-200 score against Barron.

Keely Morehouse finished second with a 45, six shots behind medalist Kami Zurn of Barron. Brynn Johnson shot a 49 and Emma and Autumn Cooper shot 53, respectively.

Solon Springs cross-country finishes second

Solon Springs nabbed a second-place finish in a cross-country meet at Sand Greens Country Club near Danbury on Tuesday, the boys finishing with 62 points to Grantsburg's 27.

Dylan Taggert (18:23, a season-best) finished sixth to lead Solon Springs behind winner Will Gerber of Grantsburg (16:30)

On the girls side, Solon Springs was fourth. Their best finisher was 10th-place Nona Thompson (23:45). The winner was Unity's Ann Boland (20:43).
