Superior twin brothers Brandon and Brock Olson helped the Midwest Alliance team place third in a 5-Man competitive paintball tournament series event July 17 in River Falls.

Midwest Alliance, which was playing in its second series event, defeated the Rooster Crew of Faribault, Minn., to claim a podium spot and finish the day with an overall record of 10-3.

Midwest Alliance earned the first-place seeding after prelims with a record of 8-1. The event included eight teams from Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska.

Midwest Alliance is a 5-Man paintball team which includes Jonah Jamroz and Andrew Kurtti of Neenah; Clayton Poehnelt of Wittenberg; Duluth’s Colten Hennis; and Hunter Osterman of Hurley. The team is coached by Brandon and Brock Olson’s dad, Jeff Olson.

Competitive paintball tournaments are categorized into 3-Man, 5-Man, and 7-Man tournaments with competition levels at high school, college and professional.

The Vintage Paintball Series is a three-tournament event held periodically throughout the spring, summer and fall months in River Falls. The last event in the series is scheduled for Sept. 18.
