The Superior High School track team swept the girls and boys team titles at Thursday's Hayward Invitational.
Highlighting the meet was Raya Kosey setting a new SHS record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.4 seconds. The old record was 26.5 by Sophia Anyanwu in 2000.
The SHS girls 1,600 relay team of Christa Diedrich, Taylor Kosey, Nicole Olson and Raya Kosey also ran one of the fastest times in the state with a 4:12.68. In comparison, Hayward finished second on Thursday with a time of 4:22.17.
Zach Colvin's 200-meter dash in 22.90 is the fastest 200 since Steve Burkholder in 1996 (21.9) and Packy Paquette in 1966 (22.3) and Dan Quade finished second in the won the high jump with a leap of 5-10.
The SHS track team is back in action at the Duluth Denfeld quad at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
