The Superior High School Spartans and New Richmond Tigers skated to a 4-4 overtime tie Tuesday night in New Richmond.
The Spartans got two goals from Max Plunkett and one each from Grant Sorensen and Taylor Burger as they snapped a three-game losing streak and moved to 12-7-2 on the season.
The Spartans, who were outshot 50-38, hit two posts in overtime and Caden Welch stopped a New Richmond breakaway attempt.
Superior took a 2-0 lead when Sorensen scored 1:36 into the game and Plunkett scored with 1:06 left in the first period.
New Richmond scored the next four goals, starting with Mikah Kier’s goal with 22 seconds remaining in the opening period. Hayden Bradbury then scored three straight goals in the second period.

Superior tied it up at 4-4 with goals by Plunkett and Burger.
After a scoreless third period, Superior outshot New Richmond 6-3 in overtime.
Jake Erickson had 34 saves for New Richmond (14-4-1), which still has games remaining with Baldwin-Woodville, Monona Grove and West Salem.
Superior, which hosted Duluth East Thursday, plays at Hermantown at 7:30 p.m. Monday then wraps up the regular season by hosting Eau Claire Memorial Feb. 10.
