Pam Papenfuss, a junior from Bruno, Minn., and Laura Kievala, a junior from Solon Springs, were named players of the week for their roles with the UW-Superior volleyball team in two games. They led offensively and defensively as UWS dropped a decision to Macalester College and rebounded with a win over UW-Eau Claire. (1983)
The team of Mark Carlson, Ruth and Bill Germond and Joe Leszcynski fired a 29 to win a mixed scramble event at the Nemadji Golf Course. In at 31 were the teams of Jan, Jim and Don Crawford and Tony and Betty Leszcynski, and Meredith and Ben Lugowski, Helen Holton, Gordy Hill, and Ed and Kay Dahlberg. (1982)
