Junior linebacker John Danczyk of Hayward was named the most valuable player on the University of Wisconsin-Superior football team. Coach Americo Mortorelli said Danczyk has broken the season record for tackles with two more games left to play this year. He is credited with 149 tackles, 49 of them unassisted. And, said Mortorelli, Danczyk has broken the UWS career tackling record with less than three years of competition. (1982)
