A vastly improved Superior Central High School basketball team (it won only one of four starts early this season) defeated Duluth Denfeld 37-29 with a great team effort. Center John Stensland bagged 11 points and forward Sharon Craker added 10 to the Viking columns and the team got excellent floor games from guards Dick McVey and Don (Pug) Polglase. (1947)
