The season came to an end for the Superior High School boys basketball team with an 88-62 loss to the Neenah Rockets Friday, March 6, at Ron Einerson Fieldhouse in Neenah.
The Rockets (21-2) will host No. 7 Marshfield in a WIAA Division 1 regional final at 7 p.m. Saturday, March, 7. Marshfield advanced with a 64-60 win over No. 10 Stevens Point.
Superior’s season ends with an 11-12 record.
Joey Barker, Superior’s only senior, finished his prep career with a game-high 27 points. His final line included three 3-pointers and 4-of-4 shooting from the free-throw line.
Overall, Superior was 10-of-10 on free throws.

Max Klesmit, who will play at NCAA Division I Wofford next season, led Neenah with 25 points. Jacob Dietz was also in double figures with 15 points.
Neenah went on to defeat Marshfield 63-49 on Saturday, March 7, and will play Chippewa Falls in a sectional semifinal game in Appleton on Thursday, March 12. The other semifinal game is Kimberly vs. Eau Claire North.
