The Superior High School girls swim and dive team won its sixth straight Lake Superior Conference championship Thursday evening at Lincoln Park Middle School in Duluth.
The Spartans won the team title with 300 points. Proctor-Hermantown finished second with 266 points.
Senior Kaitlin Heinen had a hand in all four wins for Superior. She set a team, LSC and pool record in the 200 freestyle (1:56.07) and a team and LSC record in the 100 freestyle (54.21). She was also a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.

The previous fastest SHS time in the 100 free was 54:48 set by Leah Smith in 1995. Heinen also broke her old record in the 200 free of 1:57.91 set in 2012.
Other Spartans on the 200 medley relay were Alysha Johnson, Kaitlin Sanders and Julie Snyder, who was also on the 400 free relay with Lauren Magnuson and Carlee Noonan.
Duluth Denfeld’s Erin Rudd won the 200 individual medley, 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke.
Up next for Superior are the WIAA sectionals at Hudson. The diving event is Nov. 7 and the swimming events are Nov. 8.
