SPARTAN ROUND-UP: Soccer team blanked twice

The Superior High School girls soccer team suffered a pair of shutouts at home, 5-0 to River Falls on Thursday and 1-0 to Chippewa Falls Friday.

The Spartans play at Rice Lake today and at Eau Claire North Thursday. Both games begin at 5 p.m.

Boys golf

The Spartans finished with a team score of 692 in the two-day Grand Rapids Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Superior turned in scores of 353 Friday and 339 Saturday.

Scott Archambeau was the Spartans’ low golfer with a two-day score of 165, including a SHS low score of 81 on Friday.

Kiefer Eales was low Spartan on Saturday with an 82. He also golf a 90 on Friday.

Both of Superior’s JV teams carded 392s at a Hayward JV meet on Friday.

Ian Johnson led Superior Blue with an 87, while Noah Lear led the White with an 88.

The Spartans will host the Nemadji Invitational at 11 a.m. Wednesday and then golf in the Scott Miller Invitational Friday and Saturday in Hayward.
