Spartan girls cooled off by Eskomos

The Superior High School girls basketball team fell to 5-13 on the season with a 51-37 loss to the Esko Eskomos Monday night in the SHS gym.

Ava Gonsorowski led Esko with a game-high 20 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers.

Natalie Olson led Superior with 11 points, which included three 3-point baskets.

In earlier action the Spartans also lost 60-29 last Thursday night at Rice Lake.

Rice Lake led 26-15 at the half, then outscored the Spartans 34-14 in the second half.

Freshman Niya Wilson led the Spartans with nine points.

Brooke Olson led the Warriors with 17 points.

The Spartans host Virginia tonight (Tuesday) and Hudson Friday. All three games begin at 7:15 p.m.
