The Solon Springs High School softball team swept Washburn 15-0 in three innings and 16-0 in five innings in an Indianhead Conference doubleheader Monday, May 14, a Washburn.

Kylli Rajala pitched all three innings in the opener, allowing two hits with eight strikeouts.

Rajala also pitched the first three innings of game two, allowing two hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Taylor Routley pitched a scoreless fourth inning with three strikeouts and one walk.

The Eagles had seven hits in the opener, led by Rajala, who homered, singled, knocked in two runs and scored three others.

Jetta Swanson added a single and three RBIs; Allison Androsky doubled in two runs; Morgan Anderson, Muree Ahlberg Taylor Routley had a hit an RBI each; and Maddelyn Swanson had an RBI.

Solon Springs had 15 more hits in game two, including a triple, double, single and RBI from Rajala.

Ahlberg added three hits and three RBIs; Allison Androsky had a triple, double and three RBIs; Lily Nordskog had a triple, double and three RBIs; Anderson triples; Swanson doubled and singled; Routley had an RBI single; and Jetta Swanson singled.

The Eagles are the No. 2 seed for the WIAA Division 5 playoffs and will host the winner of Birchwood and Washburn on Tuesday, May 21. Birchwood and Washburn play Thursday, May 16.
