Annah Schussman, Lindrey Schendel and Kenzie Oehlerking scored second-half goals as Wisconsin-Superior stayed unbeaten in UMAC play with a 3-0 victory over Northland in women’s soccer Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at NBC Spartan Sports Complex.

Morgan Philliber had two saves for UWS (9-3 overall, 7-0 UMAC) while Elysabeth Lough had 11 saves for Northland (2-7-2, 1-5-1).

The Yellowjackets will continue UMAC play when they take on Martin Luther at 1 p.m. Friday in New Ulm, Minnesota.


Teff, Yellowjackets hold off Northland

Cassy Teff had 15 kills, 15 set assists and 13 digs to lead Wisconsin-Superior to a 3-1 (25-15, 18-25, 26-24, 25-13) victory over Northland in UMAC volleyball before 119 at Kendrigan Gymnasium in Ashland.

Kaylin Plautz added 13 kills and four blocks and Maiana Stark had 11 kills. Megan Holz paced the offense with 31 set assists and Jenna Anderson (33 digs) and Alexie Pryd (18 digs) led the defense for the Yellowjackets (7-13 overall, 5-3 UMAC).

Larissa Fossum had 15 kills and Elizabeth Montgomery had 14 kills for Northland (4-13, 1-7).

UWS returns home for a UMAC game against Bethany Lutheran at 7 p.m. Friday at Mertz Mortorelli Gym.
