The Superior High School boys soccer team remained undefeated with a 7-1 win over the Ashland Oredockers on Monday, Sept. 9, in Ashland.
Spartan sophomore Jakob Kidd scored the first of his four goals just eight seconds into the game as Superior improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Lake Superior Conference.
Kidd also scored in the 24th and 27th minutes to give Superior a 3-0 lead.
Ashland spoiled Nate Olson’s shutout bid with Ye Gyeom Won’s unassisted goal in the 40th minute.
Kidd’s final goal made it 4-1 early in the second half. Viet Nguyen scored the next two goals and Alex Hanson put the cap on the scoring in the 82nd minute.
Hanson, along with Jeffrey Olson, assisted on two goals, and Kaden Olson, Ethan DeFoe and Andrew Olson added an assist apiece.
The Spartans, who played at Duluth Denfeld on Thursday, Sept. 12, will host LSC Day on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex.
Varsity games include Cloquet vs. Ashland, 1 p.m.; Proctor vs. Mesabi East, 3 p.m.; Hermantown vs. Duluth Denfeld, 5 p.m.; and Duluth Marshall vs. Superior, 7 p.m.
