The University of Wisconsin-Superior women’s soccer team tuned up for its final three UMAC games of the regular season with a 3-0 non-conference victory over Rockford (Ill.) University Friday, Oct. 19, in Minneapolis.
All three Yellowjacket goals came in the final 11 minutes, starting with Sarah Fjeran’s fourth and fifth goals of the season in a span of 1:11. Liza Shelquist scored Superior's third goal, her second goal of the year, in the 86th minute.
The Yellowjackets outshot Rockford 14-7, including 8-4 in shots on goal.
Morgan Philliber improved to 2-3-1 and picked up her first shutout with a four-save performance for UWS.
The Yellowjackets (5-10-1, 4-5-0 UMAC) host North Central in their final home game of the regular season at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at NBC Spartan Sports Complex.
