Hermantown won the second leg of the Lake Superior Conference boys golf series at Chequamegon Bay Golf Club in Ashland on Wednesday.
The Hawks slipped past second-place Duluth Denfeld by nine strokes, 314 to 323, while Hermantown's Trent Sundbom and Denfeld's Jessie Moder each shot 37 for nine holes to lead the boys field.
The Superior High School Spartans finished in fourth place with a team scored of 335.
The Spartans' low golfer was Daniel Burger with a 40. Chris Rochon and Spencer Sitek were a stroke back with 41s; Lukas Gall had a 42; Matthew Hinaus came in with a 46; and Brady Uotinen carded a 55.
The Spartans are back in action today at the Rice Lake Invitational.

The SHS boys tennis team lost 6-1 to the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks Tuesday evening in Cloquet.
Anthony Bronson and Bryan Bergstrom won for Superior, 6-4, 6-2 over Adam Kangas and Josh Keith in the No. 4 doubles match.
Superior, which hosted Duluth East on Thursday, hosts Duluth Marshall at 4:15 p.m. Monday.
