The Superior High School boys basketball team improved to 3-0 with a 60-48 win over the Minneapolis Southwest Lakers Saturday evening in the SHS gym.

The Spartans got off to a quick start and took a 17-10 lead after the first quarter.

Southwest went on to outscore Superior 22-19 during the second and third quarters before Superior pulled away with a 24-16 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Devan Rivord led Superior with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Nick Mehlum also had 12 points along with six rebounds; Connor Gray added 11 points and five rebounds; Brett Lozon had 10 points and four assists; and Jake Libal had eight points.

Superior plays at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Ashland.
