The Superior High School boys basketball team improved to 5-0 with an 89-42 win over Duluth Marshall Tuesday night in the SHS gym.

Junior Brandon Myer led the Spartans with 16 points. Connor Gray added 14 points and Nick Mehlum had 12.

Up next for the Spartans is the Big Rivers/Valley Conference holiday tourney in Marshfield. Superior will play River Falls on Dec. 29 and Hudson on Dec. 30.

SPARTAN SPIN: The SHS junior varsity also improved to 5-0 with an 80-16 win over the Hilltoppers. Every player scored for Superior, led by Blake Graskey with 10 points and Justin Reinkall with nine. Tre Knight, Keith Montgomery and Shaun Petrovich also had eight points apiece. … The Spartans completed the sweep, and improved to 4-1, with a win in the “C” team game.
