The Superior High School boys basketball team split a pair of games last week, losing 68-52 Thursday at Duluth Denfeld and winning 67-61 Friday at home over Bemidji.
Mason Ackley scored 21 points Friday night for the Spartans, who trailed Bemidji 32-26 at halftime.
Xavier Patterson was next with 14 points and Kaleb Zentkowski added nine.
Another key to Superior’s win was 21-of-30 shooting from the free-throw line.

Linaes Whiting led Bemidji with 24 points, which included five 3-pointers.
Ben Rhodes made four 3-pointers on his way to scoring a team-high 16 points Thursday at Denfeld. Patterson added 11 points and Ackley had 10.
Ben Gibson and Jaden Burse led Denfeld with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
The Spartans, who lost to Duluth East Monday night, host Grand Rapids at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
