The Friday Night Hoops League playoffs was among the casualties when the Superior Douglas County Family YMCA closed on Tuesday, March 16, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The league, which featured six teams from Superior High School, opened its playoffs on Friday, March 13, but the semifinals on March 20 and the championship game on March 27 have been canceled.
Child care is still available at the YMCA for children ages 3-11 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Friday, April 3. Register online by clicking on the online registration tab or at the Superior YMCA Member Services Desk. For more information, contact the Superior YMCA, 715-392-5611
“We will remain closed until at least April 6,” said a post on the YMCA website. “We are shifting our focus and resources to the most critical needs in our community. For us that will mean providing adequate childcare options for those who must work during this challenging time.”
