The annual Rivet Run 5K is changing its date and format this year.

Instead of an in-person race at Pattison State Park in July, the event will take place virtually in October. Funds raised will be used for Nordic ski trail maintenance at the park.

Online registration is $15, with the entire amount earmarked for the trails. Organizer Eve Graves said anyone who registers by Sept. 10 will get a free three-month subscription to Silent Sports Magazine.

Participants will have from Oct. 8 to Nov. 8 to complete the 5K on their own. It can be done anywhere, including the traditional route along Pattison State Park trails. Upon completing the 5K, participants will email their name, age, gender and time to runnski@gmail.com . Results will be posted Nov. 9.

Blaze orange Rivet Run shirts and gear are available for purchase through Shirts Unlimited in Superior and will be available for pick up or delivery after Nov. 12.
