Rice Lake holds off Superior

The Superior High School boys basketball team fell to 6-8 on the season with a 67-59 loss to Rice Lake Tuesday night in the SHS gym.

Averie Habas scored 17 points and Evan Tillung added 15 for the visiting Warriors.

Justin Reinkall was one of four SHS players in double figures for the Spartans with 16 points. He also had five assists, two steals and four rebounds.

Xavier Patterson added 12 points and five rebounds; Aaron O’Shaughnessy had 10 points and two assists; and Blake Graskey had 10 points and blocked shot.

Rice Lake was 26-34 on free throws, compared to just 6-of-10 for Superior.

The Spartans also got four points each from Nate Tunell and Corey Sanders, two points form Kaleb Zentkowski and one from Mason Ackley.

The Spartans were 5-of-24 on 3-point attempts. O’Shaughnessy made two of Superior’s 3-pointers and Reinkall, Patterson and Tunell made the other three.

Superior plays at Eau Claire Memorial at 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
