Butternut and Solon Springs closed out the regular season Friday night at Sandy Spin Slade Gymnasium, with Butternut holding to win in five sets 25-18, 22-55, 25-21, 18-25, 15-11.
The Eagles' Muree Ahlberg was recognized as part of Senior Night and was 10-for-14 serving with five aces and seven digs.
Jori Gehl led Solon Springs with 17 kills and 10 set assists. Maddelyn Swanson added seven kills and led the team with eight digs. Kyra Latvala led the Eagles with 14 set assists.
“It was a very intense match tonight,” Eagles assistant coach Ciara Simenson said. “Each play was filled with blocks, digs, sets and spikes. Very well played rallies tonight. The girls showed up and gave it their all.”
Solon Springs opens players with a first-round regional matchup at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Northwood.
