Superior ended up in third place at the Heart O'North Conference girls' golf championship on Wednesday at Cumberland Golf Club.
Hayward finished with a 378 to take top honors, while Barron edged Superior (413) by two shots for the runner-up place.
Northwestern (537) finished seventh.
The Hurricanes' Gillian Johnson dominated the field with an 85, with Superior's Keely Morehouse carding a 98, good for a fourth-place tie among individuals.
Katie Kyle shot 109 for the Tigers' best outing.

The event also capped the HON season. Superior finished tied for second of 10 teams in the standings, with Morehouse accumulating the second-most points in the league standings behind Michelle Wallin of Ladysmith. Northwestern's Reese Smith finished seventh. The Tigers were seventh as a team.

Northwestern fought hard to earn a sweep on Thursday in Heart O' North Conference volleyball, coming from seven points down in the third set to finish off the Hurricanes 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-23).
Brynn Hessel and Kayla Paulsen had 12 kills apiece for the Tigers, with Hessel adding 21 digs and Paulsen 15. Brinley Tonn paced the offense with 32 assists.
"The girls played with a lot of energy tonight from start to finish and really earned the win. We chased down some balls and made great plays to stay in rallies when we led and when we trailed," Tigers coach Charles Hessel said.

Five kills apiece from Bailey Monson and Jori Gehl weren't enough for Solon Springs to keep South Shore at bay on Thursday in an Indianhead Conference match in Solon Springs, with the Cardinals sweeping 25-18, 25-20, 25-16.
Senior Maddelyn Swanson had a pair of aces and a solid defensive performance for the Eagles, now 1-1 in league play.

The Spartans swept the doubles to win a Lake Superior Conference match at home on Thursday.
The team of Brooke Hendry and Emma Sislo bounced back from losing the first set 6-2 to Ava Borham and Lydia Saxin of the Hunters to win each of the next two sets by the same score.
The Spartans closed out each of the other two matches by narrow margins, with Mollie Rossing and Tatum William taking a second-set tiebreaker 7-4 over Grace Schlitz and Gracen Watts at No. 2 and Sarah Benson and Ruby Farnham edging Lauren Scott and Maria Oppelt 7-5 in the second.
