Shell Lake used an interception return for a touchdown in the first half and then hung on in the second half to defeat Northwood 20-14 in a football game Friday night in Minong.
Collin Krmpotich opened the scoring for Northwood on a 10-yard scoring run, but Shell Lake responded by scoring the next 20 points.
Syver Gulbrandsen hit Ben Monson on a 27-yard TD pass and a two-point conversion to close the gap to six points in the fourth quarter.
Gulbrandsen was 12-for-23 passing for 134 yards while Krmpotich rushed for 98 yards to lead the Evergreens.
Tyler Schunck ran for 138 yards on 24 carries and threw a 46-yard touchdown pass on his lone completion.
