Senior Collin Krmpotich rushed 14 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns and had an 87-yard kick return for another score as Northwood/Solon Springs closed out the 8-player football regular season with a 28-14 victory Friday, Nov. 6, at Frederic.
Senior quarterback Ben Monson was 6-for-12 passing with a touchdown and interception for the Evergreens (3-3), who will rematch the Vikings (2-5) at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in Minong in a one-game playoff/bowl game.
Monson was filling in for junior starter Syver Gulbrandsen, who according to coach Matt Hager should be back next week after going through concussion protocol.
Monson’s top target was junior Bryon Hobscheid, who hauled in three passes for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Northwood/Solon Springs held a 241-129 advantage in yards. Monson led the Evergreens’ defensive effort with eight tackles, including a quarterback sack, while Hobscheid had seven tackles and an interception.
