Members of the UW-Superior men's soccer team spent Tuesday, Feb. 23, shoveling off the turf field at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex at Superior High School.
The team split into three groups and took advantage of the nice weather to get the job done, according to head coach Joe Mooney. The Yellowjackets will begin practice soon for an adapted season with UMAC conference games set to begin in April. Usually, the Yellowjackets play in the fall.
The Spartan football team will also benefit from the clean field, with practice scheduled to start March 8. Coach Bob DeMeyer said his team appreciates the soccer players helping out.
"We also know that we will likely get hit with several more blasts of snow, and our team will be out there with them," he said.
