Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson’s chances of playing in the NFC Championship Game are slim to none.
The four-time Pro Bowler has “only a small chance” to play in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, a source told ESPN.
The 31-year-old Nelson sustained two broken ribs in Green Bay’s 38-13 rout of the New York Giants in the NFC wild-card round. Nelson made one catch for 13 yards in the victory.
Nelson was ruled out before Saturday’s last-second 34-41 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC divisional round on Sunday, and he told NFL Network before the game he was still struggling to breathe.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy was unsure if Nelson would practice this week.

“Can’t tell you if Jordy’s going to practice Wednesday, but he did all the work in the (regeneration) workout today,” McCarthy told reporters Monday, via ESPN.com. “So that’s a good sign.”
A member of the Packers’ Super Bowl XLV-winning team in 2011, Nelson caught 97 passes for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.
