Applications are being taken now for the third annual Stride, Ride, Glide Triathlon, which takes place March 1 in the Superior Municipal Forest.
There have been some changes to the course, which organizer Eve Graves said will make it more user-friendly than ever.
The biking section of the race has been shortened to 5K and will be held on a flat section of trail this year, Grave said, perfect for a mountain bike. The “stride” section of the race will again be 5K, and participants can choose to walk or run the distance. Rounding out the event is a 5K cross-country ski section. It will be groomed for skate skiing and will have tracks.
As with previous years, participants can choose to tackle all three sections of the race individually, or in teams of two or three with each person taking a leg of the race. Organizers can help participants find teammates to share the race with, if needed.
The entrance fee is $40 for individuals, $75 for a team. Proceeds will be earmarked for a scholarship fund for local high school skiers. Visit the Stride, Ride, Glide Tri Facebook event page for information and a link to the registration page. Graves encouraged participants to sign up early. The race is capped at 100, and last year 65 people competed in the event.
