Counties meet to mull antlerless harvest quotas

The Douglas County Deer Advisory Council meets to review 2017 harvest data and form preliminary 2018 antlerless quota, permit and season structure recommendations beginning at 6 p.m. Monday in Room 270 in the Government Center, 1316 N. 14th St.

While this is a working meeting of the council, the public is encouraged to attend and will have an opportunity to provide insight during the public comment period of the meeting.

Local Department of Natural Resources staff will be on hand to present information and answer questions.

An online public comment period runs April 2-12. A final council meeting is set for 6-8 p.m. April 18 in Room 270 of the Government Center to allow the council to review public feedback before making final recommendations. To comment online, visit and search for "CDAC."

Final recommendations will be sent to the Natural Resources Board for approval in May.
