Annual meeting

The public is invited to attend the St. Louis River Alliance's annual meeting Jan. 20 from 6:45-8:15 p.m. at the Superior Public Library (1530 Tower Ave.).

A special volunteer recognition ceremony and reception will be held during the meeting, along with a report of highlights from 2010 and plans for the future. The event is free.

The Environmental Stewardship Awards Ceremony usually held in conjunction with the meeting will take place April 5.

Ski trail

According to Brule River State Forest staff, the After Hours cross-country ski trail system was groomed and tracked Jan. 12 and is in excellent condition for classic and skate skiing. The conditions are the best so far this season.

Candlelight ski

The Brule River State Forest will hold its annual candlelight ski Feb. 12 at the Afterhours Ski Trail. Two miles of cross-country ski trail will be lit by candles for the event, running from 6-9 p.m.
