The Northwood girls basketball team used a strong second half Thursday to defeat the Ashland Oredockers 43-33.
Northwood played to a 16-16 tie in the first half, but in the second the Evergreens scored 27 points while holding Ashland to just 17.
Jacqueline Manor led Northwood with 15 points, Julia Manor added 12 and Mckenzie Coons added 10.
The Evergreens, 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the Central Lakeland Conference, play at Turtle Lake at 7:15 tonight and then host local rival Solon Springs for a nonconference game at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

Boys basketball
The Northwood boys fell to Turtle Lake 79-52 Friday.
Northwood (7-4, 3-2) fell behind by 11 points in the first half, and Turtle Lake didn’t let up in the second half, scoring 46 points.

Hunter Phillips scored 14 points to lead the Evergreens, and Ryan Volz added 13 points. Volz also had nine rebounds and two blocks for the Evergreens. Tyler Budisalovich and Nathan Blegen had three assists apiece.
The Evergreens travel to Siren today for a 7:15 p.m. game, and on Friday they play at Drummond.
