The Northwood boys basketball team lost a close match with New Auburn Tuesday in Minong, 59-55.
The Evergreens scored just seven points in the first quarter against New Auburn and spent the rest of the game trying fight their way back.
Brian Albano had 22 points for Northwood and Nick Murray added 16. Keanan Franco and Austin Meyer chipped in with five points apiece.
Northwood shot just five free throws in the game.
Northwood's lack of free throw opportunities was a reversal from the Evergreens' fortunes Friday, when Northwood was 21-for-26 from the line in a 66-35 victory over Prairie Farm.

Murray led the Evergreens in scoring against Prairie Farm with 22 points, including 10 straight free-throws in the fourth quarter. Brad Ross had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds, Albano had 12 points and Gage Harwick also reached double figures for Northwood with 10 points.
The Evergreens are now 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the Central Lakeland Conference.
The Northwood girls fell to Siren 55-45 Tuesday at Siren.
The Evergreen boys and girls both play Shell Lake in a doubleheader Friday. The girls varsity game begins at 6 p.m., and the boys game follows at 7:30 p.m.
